The recording has been cut down into audio clips of varying lengths, including a longer segment in which Griselda talks about meeting and marrying Professor Abdallah, her first visit to Sudan and life at Bakht al-Rida in the 1950s, the couple’s work postings to Nigeria and Morocco in the 60s and 70s, Professor Abdallah’s awards and his final days living with the effects of a stroke in the 2000s. Several of the audio clips refer to specific groups of images available to view in Griselda’s collection included in Sudan Memory.

The big spacious house was a blessing after the cramped living conditions in London. This house was designed by and belonged to Taffy Griffith, the founder of Bakht al-Rida, and was different from the other teachers' houses. It had a flag pole outside where Griselda hoisted the Sudanese flag on independence day.
