Description: Abdallah at Saint Mark's Square, Venice. The previous year, the couple had driven to Yugoslavia wanting to ship the car from there to Cairo, and then drive to Khartoum but were not able to because of a problem with the paperwork. So instead they drove to Athens where they put the car in storage. The following year Griselda's parents came to Athens by train and joined the couple who drove the car up through Yugoslavia and across to Corfu by ferry and then up through Italy and France to Brittany.
