Abū Qarja and Majdhūb Abū Bakr give ʿUthmān Diqna details on the situation in Eastern Sudan, as the latter is currently in Omdurman, visiting the Khalīfa.
Most of the letter deals with the instructions of the Khalīfa on question of grain (taxation, conservation and trade). Abū Qarja and Majdhūb Abū Bakr explain to ʿUthmān Diqna that most of the harvest has been lost to locusts.
