Newspapers available on the Sudan Memory site were digitised from the collection held by the National Records Office in Khartoum. While it does not cover all the papers in the collection, and is a fraction of the corpus of Sudanese newspapers, it does offer a wide range of titles in English and Arabic. These range from early issues of The Sudan Times, dating from 1906, and The Sudan Government Gazette, dating from 1919, issues of Al-Sudan al-Jadid, Al-Ayyam and Al-Ra’y al-Amm, dating from the 60s, and the weekly cultural segment of Ajras al-Hurriya, dating from 2008.
