- Description:
- The Pink Palace, located along Nile Street and close to the University of Khartoum, is a large building built of pink stone. It often serves as accommodation for those visiting the University. In 1940, the Pink Palace served as the residence and temporary headquarters of the Emperor of Ethiopia, Haile Selassie, while he was in exile. From here, the indigenous guerrilla war against bloody Fascist rule over Ethiopia was supported by the British.
